BAKU, Azerbaijan, March 15. The volume of oil pumped through the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan (BTC) pipeline from January through February 2024 amounted to 4.725 million tons, which is 2.1 percent more than in the same period of 2023, Trend reports, referring to the State Statistics Committee of Azerbaijan.
The BTC pipeline pumped 74.9 percent of the entire volume of oil
transported by the main oil pipelines that cross Azerbaijani
territory.
According to the commission, Azerbaijani oil accounted for 3.882
million tons of the total oil pumped through BTC from January to
February 2024. This statistic is three percent lower than the
figure for January-February 2023.
In 2023, 30.19 million tons of oil were transported via BTC (up 1.5
percent from 2022).
The Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan pipeline runs 1,768 km from the Azeri-Chirag-Gunashli oil field in the Caspian Sea to the Mediterranean Sea. It connects Baku, Azerbaijan to Ceyhan, a port on Türkiye's south-eastern Mediterranean coast, via Georgian Tbilisi.
