Trend:

The head of Export Development Bank of Iran Ali Saleh Abadi has announced that the bank would provide financing to knowledge-based companies.

"The bank has good planning in this regard and provides good advances. We have provided $23 million from the National Development Fund and $38 million from Export Development Bank's profit to knowledge based companies," said Abadi, Trend reports from the conference of knowledge-based companies in Tehran.

"The bank provides advances to companies based on their financial capacities, we are aware that knowledge-based companies do not have similar financial capacity as petrochemical companies, therefore their evaluation is different. Meanwhile our view toward these companies is different from petrochemical companies but a knowledge-based company should provide its financial statements for exports," he said.

"The bank would offer a 30-percent discount for its fees to knowledge based companies that are active in exports alongside providing services, identifying production supply chain, support of exports chain. It would open letter of credit (LC), accept guarantee from Export Guarantee Fund of Iran, facilitate the evaluation by creating special committee," he added.
"The staffs in the bank branches are educated and one of the roles of our bank is providing consultation to knowledge-based companies," he indicated.

"Identifying the exports opportunities via cooperation with chambers of commerce and introducing it to knowledge based companies alongside notifying tenders and international conferences are other function of Export Development Bank of Iran to support knowledge based companies," he noted.
