Azerbaijan's Nakhchivan unveils its five-month GDP

BAKU, Azerbaijan, June 22

The volume of gross domestic product (GDP) in Azerbaijan’s Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic (AR) amounted to 1.7 billion manat ($1 billion) from January through May 2020, which is 0.9 percent more compared to the same period in 2019, Trend reports referring to the AR’s State Statistical Committee on June 22.

The GDP per capita increased by 1.5 percent during the reporting period compared to the same period of last year, and amounted to 2,190 manat ($1,290).

Meanwhile, the main share of the AR's GDP accounted for industry. So, the volume of industrial production amounted to 450.8 million manat (nearly $265.2), which is 1 percent more than in the same period of 2019.

As part of investments made in the fixed capital from January through May 2020, 404.2 million manat ($237.7 million) was allocated from all financial sources of the Nakhchivan AR, which is 1.3 percent more than in 2019.

Some 384.1 million manat ($225.9 million) accounted for construction and installation work, which is 95 percent of all allocations for fixed capital.
