Lending to the economy of Azerbaijan amounted to over 14.8 billion manat ($8.7 million) as of early July 2021, Trend reports with reference to the Central Bank of Azerbaijan (CBA).
From January through June 2021, lending to the economy increased by 4.9 percent or 699.9 million manat ($411.7 million) compared to the beginning of the year and by 4.8 percent or 687.1 million manat ($404.1 million), compared to the same period of 2020.
The population's deposits in banks as of July 1 amounted to 8.43 billion manat ($4.95 million), which is a growth of 9.5 percent or 729 million manat ($428.8 million) on annual basis.
Earlier, Chairman of the Central Bank of Azerbaijan Elman Rustamov said that 86.5 percent of all deposits of the population were insured.
