Kazakhstan Deposits Insurance Fund raises maximum recommended rates on deposits

Kazakhstan Deposits Insurance Fund raised the maximum recommended rates on non-term deposits for January and February 2022 following the decision of the National Bank to increase the base rate, Trend reports citing the Fund.

The changes come into force on January 25, 2022, and from that day on, banks have the right to revise the interest rates for the relevant deposit products.

The interest rates on non-term deposits will be 9.8 percent for deposits both with replenishment and no replenishment rights.

Thus, interest rates on term deposits with replenishment right placed for three and six months will be 9.8 percent, and for those without replenishment right it will be 10.3 percent.

Interest rates on term deposits with replenishment right placed for 12 and 24 months will be 10.4 and 9.2 percent respectively, whereas for those without replenishment right it will be 10.7 and 9.4 percent respectively.

Furthermore, interest rates on savings deposits with replenishment right placed for three and six months will be 12.8 percent, whereas for those without replenishment right it will be 13.3 percent.

In turn, interest rates on savings deposits with replenishment rights placed for 12 and 24 months will be 13.7 and 11.4 percent, whereas for those without replenishment rights it will be 14.9 and 12.2 percent.
