Baku, Azerbaijan, Dec. 18

By Huseyn Valiyev, Rashid Shirinov – Trend:

Mongolia is considering the possibility of using the resources of Azerbaijan's low-orbit satellite AzerSky, a source in Azerbaijan's satellite communications market told Trend.

The details of cooperation of the parties are still being negotiated and it is possible that they will be specified in the memorandum in the future.

More than 10 countries currently use AzerSky resources, which provides the Earth remote sensing services. In one orbit pass AzerSky can shoot an area of 36,000 square meters. The satellite allows to take pictures with a resolution of up to 1.5 meters.

Earth remote sensing services offered by Azercosmos are not limited to the use of AzerSky resources. As part of the strategic partnership of the company with Airbus Defence and Space, the satellite operator of Azerbaijan also has the opportunity to use the resources of Pleiades 1A and 1B satellites, which allow surveying the Earth's surface with a resolution of up to 0.5 meters. The grouping of satellites provides ample opportunities for remote observation of the Earth's surface and increases the speed of obtaining new satellite images.
