A new charter flight will connect the capital of Uzbekistan, Tashkent and the Chinese tourist city of Chengdu until the start of 2020, as was announced by the head of Zhejiang Loong Airlines Co. Ltd Liu Yi at the presentation of the tourism potential of Uzbekistan in the Chinese city of Xi'an, Trend reports citing the Uzbek media.
Zhejiang Loong Airlines Co. Ltd will land first Airbus with guests from Chengdu, at the Tashkent airport on December 28. It is planned that the flight will be carried out twice a week.
"In recent years, as the Belt and Road Initiative has been promoted, new opportunities have opened up to expand cooperation between China and Uzbekistan. The new flights that our company introduces are the result of this dialogue. Currently the flight from Xi'an to Tashkent and vice versa is a charter one but we are discussing with the Uzbek side to make it regular,”said Liu Yi.
Since September 27 of this year, the Chinese carrier began operating flights from Xi'an to Tashkent and back on Airbus A320neo aircraft with a total capacity of 173 people. Next year Zhejiang Loong Airlines Co. Ltd also intends to launch a Hangzhou - Tashkent - Hangzhou flight.
As previously reported, Uzbekistan introduced a visa-free regime for Chinese tourists. From January 1, 2020, they will be able to come to Uzbekistan without visas for up to seven days.
