BAKU, Azerbaijan, September 20. The volume of cargo loaded and unloaded in the Amirabad port of the Mazandaran Province (northern Iran) increased by 21 percent in the 5th month of the current Iranian year (July 23 through August 22, 2022), compared to the same month last Iranian year, Trend reports via the statistics of Iranian Ports and Maritime Organization (PMO).
According to the statistics, 255,000 tons of cargo were loaded and unloaded in this port during the reporting month. Of this, 92,500 tons were loaded and about 163,000 tons were unloaded.
In addition, 80,100 tons of cargo were exported and about 150,000 tons were imported through the Amirabad port in the 5th month.
Within the 5th month, 12,300 tons of cargo were loaded and 11,800 tons were unloaded in the port for transit.
According to the statistics, 421 tons of cargo were unloaded in the port for other purposes during the 5th month.
"About 132,000 tons of essential products, 1,060 tons of metal products, 98,200 tons of construction and mining materials, 3,800 tons of equipment, vehicles and spare parts were loaded and unloaded in the Amirabad port in the 5th month of the current Iranian year," the statistics said.
Moreover, 13,500 tons of chemicals, 325 tons of leather products, clothing, fibers, paper and wood materials, 55 tons of small and assorted goods, 487 tons of container products, 5,860 tons of crude oil and oil products were loaded and unloaded in the port over the mentioned month.
In general, about 12.5 million tons of cargo were loaded and unloaded in Iranian ports in the 5th month of the current Iranian year. Of this, about 6.4 million tons were loaded and about 6.1 million tons were unloaded. This is an increase of 6 percent compared to the same month last Iranian year.
