BAKU, Azerbaijan, June 28
By Nargiz Sadikhova – Trend:
Kazakhstan will start mandatory marking of footwear starting November 1, 2021, Trend reports citing the Center for Digital Economy Development.
The decision was made based on the results of consultations with industry representatives. From November 1, 2021 it will be forbidden to produce and import unmarked shoes to Kazakhstan
The retail business will have an additional year (till November 1, 2022) to sell the remnants of unmarked goods.
The mandatory digital marking was to be introduced in July 2021, but many importers order goods at foreign factories for the autumn-winter season half a year early. Therefore, there was a risk that unmarked shoes, ordered in spring will not arrive in Kazakhstan before July 1.
The warehouses are also preparing for the introduction of mandatory digital marking. On their territory, during customs procedures, stickers or labels with a digital Data Matrix code will be applied to goods that have not been marked at foreign manufacturers.
The digital labeling of goods is an international project that is being implemented at the level of the Eurasian Economic Union.
