Kazakhstan discloses funds allocated for development of villages

First Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Kazakhstan Alikhan Smailov wrote about the implementation of the Auyl - El besigі project as a response to the MP’s request, Trend reports referring to a correspondent of Kazinform news agency.

“The development of rural areas and the country's agro-industrial complex plays a significant role in creating favorable conditions for the life of villagers,” Smailov stressed.

The first deputy prime minister added that the implementation of the Auyl - El besigi project has begun since 2019, in accordance with the instructions of first president of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev, given at the 18th Congress of the Nur Otan party on February 27, 2019.

Smailov stressed that the goal of the project is to improve the quality of life in the countryside, modernize the social and engineering infrastructure of rural areas.

The first deputy prime minister said that currently, 7.7 million people live in 6,316 rural settlements.

Some 3,561 out of 6,316 rural settlements have development potential.

Moreover, 1,510 projects related to the roads, social infrastructure, housing and communal services were implemented in 243 villages, having development potential, more than 15,000 jobs were created, more than 1,900 km of roads, 700 km of engineering networks and 418 social facilities were modernized as part of the implementation of the Auyl - El besigi project for 2019-2020.

“In general, the volume of financing from the republican budget for two years reached 110 billion tenge ($254 million),” the first deputy prime minister said. “Some 35.2 billion tenge ($81.5 million) was envisaged for 361 projects as part of the implementation of the Auyl - El besigi project in the country for 2021 within the republican budget for 2021-2023.”

The first deputy prime minister said that while clarifying the republican budget in June 2021, 70.8 billion tenge ($164 million) more was allocated for 779 projects worth 135 billion tenge ($312.7 million) to implement the roadmap on the Nur Otan party’s election program to modernize 480 rural settlements.

“Thus, taking into account the clarification, 106 billion tenge ($245.5 million) was allocated in 2021 for the implementation of 1,140 projects in 480 rural settlements,” Smailov added.

There are 302 social infrastructure projects (repair of 132 schools and kindergartens, construction and repair of 64 cultural facilities, 66 sports facilities and 40 health facilities), 122 – projects on housing and communal facilities, 716 – projects on transport infrastructure.

“The rest projects in the amount of 29 billion tenge ($67.2 million) are being implemented within the Nurly Zher State Program (34 projects worth 5.3 billion tenge $12.3 million), the Employment Roadmap (11 projects worth 1.7 billion tenge $3.9 million), as well as through the budgetary funds (200 projects worth 22 billion tenge $50.9 million),” Smailov said.

“About 12,000 jobs have been created and about 1,600 km of roads, 1,300 km of engineering networks and 302 social facilities are being modernized within the allocated funds,” the deputy prime minister added.
