Kazakhstan and Iran are developing cooperation in the field of mining and metallurgy, Trend reports via the Kazakh Ministry of Industry and Infrastructural Development.
Within the framework of the 17th meeting of the Joint Commission on Trade, Economic, Scientific, Technical and Cultural Cooperation between the two countries, a meeting was held between Vice Minister of Industry and Infrastructural Development Ruslan Baimishev and Iranian Deputy Minister of Industry, Mines, and Trade for Mining Vajihall Jafari.
The parties discussed issues of cooperation in the mining and metallurgical industry of Kazakhstan, including the prospects for the development of the Borly field [in Karaganda region], where investors successfully carried out geological exploration following the previously reached agreements.
At the moment, the Borly field is prepared for development, and the construction of an enrichment plant is underway. Kazakhstan ensured the implementation of the relevant investment contract.
The parties also agreed to continue work on other projects.
