BAKU, Azerbaijan, June 8. Chairman of the Management Board of KazMunayGas (KMG) Magzum Mirzagaliyev met with Senior Vice President of ExxonMobil Corporation Neil Chapman,Trend reports citing KMG.
Mirzagaliyev thanked Neil Chapman and ExxonMobil for many years of cooperation with KMG. The sides discussed, at the meeting, the implementation of Future Growth Project – Wellhead Pressure Management Project (FGP – WPMP) at Kazakhstan’s Tengiz oil field.
Mirzagaliyev emphasized particular importance of meeting the completion dates of the expansion project for Kazakh government and KMG.
He added that social stability would be maintained during the planned large-scale demobilization of staff, serving the FGP-WPMP in period from 2022 through 2023. KMG looks forward to working closely with Tengizchevroil LLP on this issue.
Mirzagaliev also affected the issues of further development of Tengiz oil field outside the contract period (after 2033) and suggested exploring various options to maintain oil production in the future.
Separately, the sides focused on joint activities at Kashagan oil field (North Caspian - first major offshore oil and gas development project in Kazakhstan). Mirzagaliev also emphasized the need to select a concept for subsequent stages of field development in accordance with the development strategy for total life cycle [lifespan] of the oil field (beyond 2041).
The meeting also discussed joint efforts to further increase the local content in the North Caspian project and the training and nationalization of technical and managerial personnel.
