Kazakhstan names top regions, cities for number of bought road vehicles

BAKU, Azerbaijan, July 25. The total number of road vehicles registered in Kazakhstan grew in May 2022, Trend reports via the Bureau of National statistics under the Agency for Strategic planning and reforms of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

This figure amounted to 105,300, up by 28 percent on annual basis.

The number of cars increased by 28.4 percent, trucks - by 18.8 percent, and buses - by 60.4 percent compared to May 2021.

As of June 1, 2022, the number of registered vehicles in Kazakhstan exceeded 4.3 million, of which 87.7 percent were cars, 10.4 percent - were trucks and 1.9 percent - were buses.

According to the year of production in the fleet of cars, those manufactured 20 years ago prevailed with 50.4 percent, the share of vehicles aging from 10 to 20 years - 21.1 percent, from 7 to 10 years - 14.5 percent, from three up to seven years - 6.4 percent and only 7.4 percent of the cars had a service life of fewer than three years.

The share of cars with a production year of more than 20 years among trucks made up 60.9 percent, and buses - 42.4 percent.

The highest number of cars was registered in the Almaty region (533,900), Almaty city (507,200) and East Kazakhstan region – 323,300, and the lowest - was in the Atyrau region (117,100).

The cars mainly used gasoline (87.8 percent) as fuel, and eight percent of the vehicles - mixed fuel.

Besides, 48.5 percent of trucks were refueled with diesel fuel, while the rest - were with gasoline (46.1 percent) and mixed fuel (2.2 percent).
