BAKU, Azerbaijan, January 17. Kazakhstan’s purchase of a 4.3-percent share of the Eurasian Bank JSC is worth around 20 billion Kazakh tenge ($43.1 million), Yerulan Zhamaubayev, Kazakhstan’s Minister of Finance, said, Trend reports via Kazakh media.
According to the minister, the above-mentioned amount will be reflected in the budget for 2024 after the calculations are finalized. He also noted that payments will be made within 3 or 4 years in order to avoid excessive burden on the budget.
Yesterday, the Russian share decreased from 65.98 percent to 44.79 percent. The statement issued by the Bank said that the previously owned Russian share will be divided equally between the remaining 5 countries.
Currently, Kazakhstan holds 37.29 percent, Belarus 5.21 percent, Tajikistan 4.25 percent, and Armenia and Kyrgyzstan have an equal share of 4.23 percent.
