ASTANA, Kazakhstan, June 24. Kazakhstan's foreign trade turnover amounted to $43.3 billion from January through April 2024, Trend reports.
Citing the country's Bureau of National Statistics's data, this is a drop of 3.6 percent compared to the same period in 2023.
Exports totaled $25.5 billion (0.5 percent less in nominal terms than in the same period in 2023).
At the same time, the nation's imports took a nosedive, plummeting by a whopping 7.8 percent to a mere $17.7 billion.
Meanwhile, Kazakhstan's foreign trade turnover was $139.8 billion from January through December 2023, up 3.2 percent from 2022.
Simultaneously, exports hit the mark at $78.6 billion (in nominal terms, a 7 percent drop compared to the same time in 2022), while imports skyrocketed by 20.1 percent, reaching a whopping $61.1 billion.
