Distrust to judges in Kyrgyzstan is grounded, 24.kg quoted Kyrgyz President Kurmanbek Bakiyev as saying at a meeting of the Council of Judges of Kyrgyzstan.
"Great part of population distrusts judges," Bakiyev said. "Unfortunately, the same statement was made also by the previous government. I want to mention that the distrust is grounded. The judges whom I removed from their positions ahead of time because of not irreproachable behavior testify to it."
He said discipline in judge corps must be upped. He added that the Council of Judges must take principal position toward those who were sacked.
"The members of the council were not guided by false fellowship and adopted a unified decision for the sake of self-cleaning of judge corps from negligent colleagues," the President said.
