BAKU, Azerbaijan, December 12. The capacity of Kyrgyzstan's Toktogul HPP has increased, said Chairman of the Board of the National Energy Holding of Kyrgyzstan Talaibek Baigaziev, Trend reports citing economist.kg.
According to him, the Toktogul HPP used to have a capacity of 1,200 megawatts, but with the launch of renovated second and fourth units, the capacity has increased to 1,260 megawatts.
"On November 11, 2022 the Toktogul HPP's second unit was put into operation after the repair of the hydraulic equipment. Then on November 30, the fourth unit was put into service as well following a complete reconstruction and replacement of spare parts," Baigaziev informed.
Meanwhile, to date, the volume of water in the Toktogul reservoir is 12.1 billion cubic meters, which is 1.4 billion cubic meters more than last year.
