President of Turkmenistan, Supreme Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdymuhamedov chaired a regular sitting of the National Security Council. The priority tasks to further enhance the foundations of peace and security, law and order in the Turkmen land were put on the agenda, reports Turkmen State News Agency (TDH).
Opening the sitting the Turkmen leader noted that the essential factors for implementing successfully the national development strategy aimed at steadily increasing the people's welfare were social stability, unity and solidarity of the Turkmen people, CA-News reported. The key condition ensuring the fulfillment of the designated tasks was the implementation of the provisions of the Military Doctrine of Turkmenistan setting forth the functional responsibilities of the law enforcement agencies which were to stand guard over the peaceful life and constructive labour of the Turkmen people, the rights and freedoms of every citizens of the country. Emphasizing that the high-ranking officials and personnel of these agencies were to set an example of professionalism, honesty and devotion to the duty and the Motherland Gurbanguly Berdymuhamedov specified the key measures aimed at fulfilling the designated tasks.
The members of the National Security Council - the high-ranking military and law enforcement officials reported to the Supreme Commander-in-Chief on the fulfillment of the instructions and the progress of the military reform initiated by the Turkmen leader.
The samples of new uniform designed by the Turkmen specialists for the national army and law enforcement agencies were presented to the President. Providing the specific recommendations and approving the design as a whole the Turkmen leader instructed to draft the proposals on establishment of the specialized enterprise which would perform the orders for tailoring uniform.
Focusing on the importance of further improvement of the work of the military and law enforcement agencies Gurbanguly Berdymuhamedov said that standing steadfast to its status of neutrality Turkmenistan pursued no other aims than to defend the sacred borders of the Fatherland and the peaceful sky above the country and intended implementing the complex programme to enhance nationals security and maintain the high defence capacity of the national army - the guarantor of the peaceful and prosperous life of the Turkmen people.
Emphasizing that the country would further pay special attention to strengthening the material and technical base of the armed forces, training highly qualified military personnel, creation the worthy conditions for their life, recreation and service the president focused on the important aspects of this work. In particular, the progress of the projects on construction of the military owns and frontier posts were considered.
In this context the preparations for the annual tactical exercises for training military personnel which would be held this spring were considered. Modern military equipment and machines would be used during the tactical exercises.
Emphasizing that the strong states was the state advocating and implementing the principles of humanism and mercy in practice Gurbanguly Berdymuhamedov reaffirmed Turkmenistan's adherence to these traditions and issued the Decree on an amnesty of convicted persons to mark Flag Day. The President instructed the high-ranking official to ensure the execution of the Decree so that the amnestied could celebrate the holiday together with their families.
The other issues of the further work of the military and law enforcement agencies were considered during the sitting.
