Co-chairs of the Intergovernmental Turkmen-Russian Commission on Economic Cooperation Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Rashid Meredov and the Deputy Prime Minister of Russia Alexey Overchuk discussed Turkmenistan's cooperation with Russia's regions in industrial sector, Trend reports with reference to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan.
The topic was discussed during a videoconference on June 19, 2020.
The heads and representatives of a number of ministries and departments of the leading sectors of the economy of Turkmenistan and Russia also participated in the meeting.
The meeting also confirmed that the presidents of the two countries intend to further strengthen bilateral ties, in particular in the political and diplomatic, trade and economic, cultural and humanitarian fields.
The current areas of cooperation in industry, transport, digital technologies and financial operations sectors were also noted.
Also, the parties highlighted the positive experience of relations in the field of health including their joint measures to overcome the COVID-19 pandemic.
The participants also noted the interaction within the framework of international organizations, as well as cooperation in the field of education, science and culture.
