The United Nations International Children's Emergency Fund (UNICEF) and the National Red Crescent Society of Turkmenistan will cooperate in the field of environmental protection, Trend reports with reference to the Turkmen media.
UNICEF and the National Red Crescent Society of Turkmenistan signed an agreement on cooperation within the program for the period 2021-2025 and a program document.
According to the Turkmen media, the new phase of the partnership aims to help strengthen environmental protection, education, health, and emergency preparedness.
The program document also provides for strengthening the potential of experts of the National Red Crescent Society of Turkmenistan on the basis of best international practices in combating climate change and reducing the threat of natural disasters, Turkmen media says.
These measures will be carried out in close cooperation with the key partners of UNICEF in Turkmenistan, namely: with the ministries of education, health and medical industry, and of labor and social protection of the population.
