ASHGABAT, Turkmenistan, October 23. Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Vepa Hajiyev took part in the meeting of Deputy Ministers of Foreign Affairs of the participating countries of the 'Central Asia - Republic of Korea' Cooperation Forum via videoconference, Trend reports.
During the meeting, the parties discussed topical issues related to preparations for the upcoming 16th 'Central Asia-Republic of Korea' Cooperation Forum at the level of the foreign ministers of the participating states, which will be held in Ashgabat on November 1 this year.
Thus, Turkmenistan's diplomat stressed the importance and effectiveness of this format when discussing the most important issues of regional partnership.
Key areas such as transport and logistics, healthcare and medicine, climate change and environmental protection, information and communication technologies, education and science, and tourism were identified as priority aspects of Turkmenistan's chairmanship in the forum.
Furthermore, during the videoconference, the parties discussed organizational issues of the upcoming ministerial meeting, the development of cooperation based on the agenda of the forum session, as well as the draft Joint Statement and the Work Plan of the Forum Secretariat for 2024.
Meanwhile, cooperation between Turkmenistan and South Korea is an important direction in the foreign policy of both countries, covering economic, energy, and infrastructure spheres.
South Korean companies are actively involved in infrastructure development projects in Turkmenistan, including the construction of oil and gas facilities and ports, as well as the development of renewable energy sources.
