ASHGABAT, Turkmenistan, March 6. Turkmenistan plans to implement a project for the construction of a grain storage facility in the area of the Serkhetabat - Torghundi checkpoint on the border with Afghanistan, Trend reports.
According to the official source, this was said during a meeting of high-ranking officials of Turkmenistan with the Afghan delegation held in Ashgabat as part of the Turkmen-Afghan Business Forum and an exhibition of Afghan goods.
It was noted at the meeting that the volume of this facility will temporarily store 100,000 tons at the same time, which will subsequently be transported to Afghanistan.
Furthermore, it was also noted that Turkmenistan also plans to build a 173-kilometer railway line connecting Torghundi and Herat in Afghanistan, as well as a loading and unloading area with an indoor warehouse complex in the dry port of Torghundi.
Meanwhile, the Turkmen - Afghan Business Forum and an exhibition of products from Afghan manufacturers are taking place in the capital of Turkmenistan, Ashgabat city.
A delegation consisting of more than 300 representatives of government agencies, the Chamber of Commerce and Industry and banks, as well as about 170 companies and enterprises arrived in Ashgabat to participate in the events.
