ASHGABAT, Turkmenistan, March 18. Turkmenistan has launched its annual cotton sowing campaign, marking the beginning of a crucial phase in the country's agricultural calendar, Trend reports.
This information was announced at a regular meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan, during which priority issues of public life were considered, including the progress of agricultural work in the agro-industrial complex and regions of the country.
So during the meeting it became known that cotton sowing in the Ahal, Balkan, Lebap and Mary regions of Turkmenistan will begin on March 20, and in the Dashoguz region - on March 27.
At the meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers, it also became known that the necessary measures are being taken in the regions for an organized start of sowing in accordance with agrotechnical standards, cotton seeds and agricultural machinery are being prepared.
Meanwhile, the agricultural sector in Turkmenistan receives focused government support, providing farmers, private entrepreneurs, and other agricultural producers access to preferential bank loans.
Farmers benefit from subsidized prices on mineral fertilizers, high-quality seeds, and chemical plant protection products.
