Belarusian Autoworks BELAZ OJSC completed the delivery of 13 BelAZ-75307 dump trucks for the Navoi Mining and Metallurgical Combine (NMMC), located in Uzbekistan's Navoi province, the NMMC representative told Trend.

It was previously reported that the contract, signed between the NMMC and BelAZ in August 2013, costs 27.5 million euros. The contract will be financed with the help of a loan from the Uzbekistan's state-run Halk Bank (People's Bank).

The dump trucks, with a capacity of 220 metric tons, will be utilized at the Muruntau mine (Central Kyzyl Kum), which is the main plant's gold base.

Currently, the NMMC is using over 200 Belarusian dump trucks.

A venture for repairing the BelAZ vehicles was commissioned in 2010, replacing the Navoi Machine Building Plant Production Association, which was a part of the NMMC.

The repair of 32 spare parts and units for the BelAZ vehicles, including a complete repair of diesel engines, were carried out as part of the project.

The dump trucks are being purchased as part of the programs on modernizing the mining and transport equipment of Uzbekistan's mining enterprises.

Currently, the country is utilizing about 700 BelAZ dump trucks of different brands.

Aside from the NMMC, the Belarusian dump trucks are also used by the Almalyk Mining and Metallurgical Combine (AMMC) and the Uzbekugol OJSC, an exclusive manufacturer of solid fuel in Uzbekistan.

The Navoi Mining and Metallurgical Combine (NMMC) is one of the largest gold producers in the Central Asia, and is fully state-owned.

The Muruntau deposit (Central Kyzyl Kum) is the NMMC's main gold ore base. Its development has been going on since 1967.
