BAKU, Azerbaijan, May 10. Uzbekistan’s freight traffic by railroad amounted to 17.9 million tons from January through March 2023, Trend reports via Uzbekistan’s State Statistics Committee.
During the reporting period, the country’s freight traffic by railroad grew by 1.6 times on an annual basis.
In 2022, rail freight traffic made up 73.6 million tons, increasing by 2.2 percent, compared to the figure for 2021 – 72 million tons.
Furthermore, during the first quarter of 2023, Uzbekistan’s freight traffic by all transport modes reached – 293.6 million tons.
The committee said that the largest amount of cargo in the reporting period was transported by road – 259.7 million.
At the same time, the freight traffic by air demonstrated the lowest result – 1,900 tons.
