BAKU, Azerbaijan, February 27. AsstrA international logistics provider confirms its interest in importing products of the global automotive industry to Uzbekistan, a source from company told Trend.

According to the source, Uzbekistan has been actively developing its automotive industry in recent years, transforming from a country mainly dependent on domestic production into an active participant in the global automobile market. There has been a significant growth in car production, as well as an increase in imports of foreign cars into the country. This trend is partly explained by the liberalization of customs policy and the government's efforts to stimulate competition in the domestic market.

Thus, AsstrA delivered 6 Stelvio Alfa Romeo cars from Italy, 34 Opel Astra cars from Germany and Opel Mokka cars from France to the Uzbek market from November through December 2023.

"The pilot project on transportation of cars from Europe to Uzbekistan started in November last year. The requirements for the delivery of such cargo are expectedly high - it is to ensure complete safety, the ability to monitor 24/7, photo-video reports from the reloading points, and of course, strict adherence to deadlines. Coordinated teamwork of colleagues from different countries and departments helped us to realize the client's requirements and get high appreciation in the form of new orders for vehicle allocation," a sales specialist at AsstrA Yan Pyagay shared.

In addition to cars, the AsstrA team successfully air-shipped more than 6,000 tons of auto parts from Türkiye to Uzbekistan last December. This not only contributes to the development of the country's automotive infrastructure, but also ensures that local car services and car owners have access to high-quality spare parts.

AsstrA also regularly supplies components for car production from Brazil, Mexico and the EU to Uzbekistan. This important component of logistics work ensures uninterrupted vehicle production and supports the efficiency of the automotive industry in the Uzbek market.

“Apart from direct deliveries of ready vehicles, strategic partnerships with foreign manufacturers play a key role in the development of the industry. An example of such cooperation is the project with the plant in Trnava, Slovakia, to ship new Citroen models. This project will help meet current needs and enrich the offerings in the Uzbek car market,” the source from Asstra mentioned.

The source from the company concluded that import activities play an important role in the development of Uzbekistan's automotive industry. It not only provides access to global automotive innovations, but also opens up new prospects for further growth and cooperation in this area. AsstrA-Associated Traffic AG continues to provide logistical support to this process, actively expanding its activities and making a significant contribution to the development of the local automotive market.
