A foreign company has discovered a new oil field in the Western Iranian Lorestan Province, Mehr news agency reported the oil ministry's head of exploration as saying.
The Baba Habib field is situated in the Koohdasht exploration block, said National Iranian Oil Company (NIOC) Director of Exploration, Seyed Mahmoud Mohades.
Although developing the relatively small Baba Habib field is not economically viable for the foreign company that discovered it, it is justifiable for Iran and the NIOC will work on it, said Mohades.
