The number of students who were killed in a Dec. 25 bus accident in the campus of Azad University of Science and Research in Tehran has reached 10, head of Tehran Emergency Public Relations Office Mohammad Karam Dorabadi said, Trend reports via IRNA.
He noted that another student named Mohammad Reza Fazilati who was hospitalized, was seriously injured.
The other injured 26 people have also been hospitalized, he added.
Some sources have reported the bus driver had a stroke prior to the incident and this is the reason behind hitting a concrete wall and the capsizing of the bus.
Dorabadi, however, has dismissed such reports, saying it cannot be decided whether the driver was dead prior to the incident or passed away following it.
Investigations into the cause of the incident are underway.
