Iran, Thailand keen to expand mutual ties

(IRNA) - Thai Ambassador to Tehran Suwit Saicheau and Head of Iran-Thailand Parliamentary Friendship Group Iraj Nadimi at a meeting in Majlis on Tuesday discussed bilateral ties.

At the meeting, Nadimi referred to favorable inter-parliamentary relations between the two sides and hoped that the efforts of joint parliamentary friendship group will result in expansion of such bonds, reports Trend.

The MP expressed satisfaction with the trend of the ongoing trade exchanges and underlined the need for trade balance and closer relations in the field, particularly joint investment.

For his part, Saicheau pointed to the history of close ties between Iran and Thailand in recent years and called for strengthening such relations in the domain of trade and more active role of Iran's economic sector in Thailand's exhibitions.

Turning to the mutually signed agreement on import of Iranian oil by Thailand, the Thai diplomat hoped that the document will be implemented soon and that the volume of exchanges will increase.
