Iran registers pomegranate, dates, carpet at WIPO

Iran has registered a number of its strategic domestic products at the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO).

The products include the pomegranate of Saveh (city to the southwest of capital Tehran), dates of Bam, Kerman (in central Iran), and carpets woven in 14 areas around the country, IRNA news agency reported June 15.

Iran had already registered carpets of 15 areas at WIPO.

The World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) is one of the 17 specialized agencies of the United Nations.

WIPO was created in 1967 to encourage creative activity, to promote the protection of intellectual property throughout the world.
