Baku, Azerbaijan, Oct. 7
By Elnur Baghishov - Trend:
During the first six months (March 21-Sept. 22) of this Iranian year (began March 21, 2019), the privileges for operation of 12,000 companies in the free trade zones in Iran have been abolished, said Mohsen Pourahmadi, the head of legal affairs at the Secretariat of the Supreme Council of Iran’s Free Trade, Industrial and Special Economic Zones, Trend reports via the Fars news agency.
As many as 1,970 companies were liquidated, Pourahmadi said.
More than 27,000 companies have been able to improve their legal information and continue operation in the trade zones, Pourahmadi added.
“Many companies have been trying to avoid taxation by announcing that they operate in free trade zones,” Pourahmadi said.
