Chamber of Commerce talks Iran-Kazakhstan maritime trade

TEHRAN, Iran, June 25

Trend:

Iran should use the opportunities to develop its maritime trade, head of Iran – Kazakhstan Joint Chamber of Commerce Amir Abedi told Trend.

"Iran's northern ports including Anzali, Amirabad are two active ports in maritime trade with Kazakhstan's Aktau, in addition to maritime trade between Anzali port and Kuryk port in Kazakhstan," he said.

"We do not have any major problems with Kazakhstan in maritime trade, except for the Ro-Ro ships, that should be considered part of maritime truck transportation sector," he said.

He noted that previously Iran used its Ro-Ro ships, but unfortunately due to some problems, transportation using these ships has stopped.

"We require organized construction in maritime transportation sector to develop maritime transportation of trucks. It is a necessity to provide grounds for it and solve the problems to reach better success in transporting trucks," he said.

"The COVID-19 vaccination in northern countries have led to decline of coronavirus spread and limitations in trade, so it is a chance to use maritime trade more," he said.
