By Fatih Karimov – Trend:

Iran and the EU need to negotiate more to bring close their understanding of the human rights issues, Bahram Ghasemi, Iran’s foreign ministry spokesman, said.

Iran is ready to negotiate the issue with the EU to explain the Islamic human rights in an effort to bring both positions closer, Qasemi said, the country’s foreign ministry reported.

The Iranian diplomat earlier told Trend that Tehran has a critical outlook toward things that happen in Europe, especially regarding the situation of religious minorities.

He further said that Iran will have some points to raise regarding the current human rights situation in European countries during the talks with the European Union.

He added that the state of refugees heading from around the globe to European countries will be another point that Iran plans to raise during the talks.

Iran and the EU held second round of high level talks on November 9 in Brussels. The talks were headed on one side by Iran’s Deputy Foreign Minister Majid Takht-Ravanchi, and on the other by EU’s deputy foreign policy chief Helga Schmid.

The prospect of the talks opened after Iran and world powers successfully initiated the implementation of the landmark nuclear deal (called the JCPOA) in January.
