BAKU, Azerbaijan, September 13. The value of Georgia's trade turnover significantly increased from January through August 2022, Trend reports with reference to the National Statistics Office of Georgia (Geostat).

According to Geostat, Georgia's foreign trade turnover in 8 months of this year increased by 36.6 percent compared to the same period of last year - up to $11.9 billion.

The value of Georgian imports in this period amounted to $8.3 billion, which is an increase of 36.5 percent compared to the corresponding period of 2021 ($6.1 billion).

Georgia from January through August 2022 also increased exports by 36.9 percent over the same period in 2021 - up to $3.5 billion.

At the same time, the deficit of Georgia's foreign trade balance in the reporting period amounted to $4.7 billion (40.2 percent of the total trade turnover).
