An Israeli airstrike near the city of Beit Hanoun in the northern Gaza Strip wounded three civilians on Saturday, Palestinian medical officials said, dpa reported.
The Israeli military confirmed the airstrike, which it said targeted a group of terrorists preparing to fire a homemade rocket into Israel.
In recent years, Palestinian militants have fired thousands of such rockets into Israel. Most have resulted in little damage, but the missiles occasionally have hit buildings resulting in deaths and injuries.
In response, the Israeli air force has conducted strikes against militants and their facilities. These attacks have also resulted in deaths or injuries of uninvolved civilians.
