Israel thinks more about the launching of a new war in the region than the signing of a truce with the Palestinians, Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad said at a press conference on Tuesday in a live TV channel IRINN.
"We have information that this spring Israel is preparing for a new war [against the Palestinians]," Ahmadinejad said.
Five years ago he said that Israel must be wiped off the face of the earth.
The head of the Iranian leadership stated about the pessimistic attitude of the Arab countries towards the signing of a truce between the Israelis and Palestinians by pointing out that Israel prefers war rather than peace between the parties.
"We held discussions with the Arab countries who expressed hopelessness by signing of the Palestinian truce," the Iranian president said.
Iran does not recognize the Arab peace initiative to resolve the Arab-Israeli conflict, adopted by all Arab countries. It provides for Israeli withdrawal to 1967 borders, recognition of East Jerusalem as the capital of a future Palestinian state and the rights of 5 million Palestinian refugees to return to their lands in exchange for Arab countries' recognition of Israel's right to co-existance.
