Turkey has condemned last week's suicide bombing which killed an Afghan parliamentarian in northern Afghanistan, Anadolu Agency reported.

Turkey feels deeply sorry over the attack targeting a wedding hall in the northern city of Aybak, which killed MP Ahmad Khan Samangani, the father of the bride, as well as several other prominent public figures, said a statement by the Turkish ministry of foreign affairs on Tuesday.

"We condemn this terrorist attack which targets Afghanistan's elected representatives," the statement noted.

The foreign ministry also said Turkey would continue to act in solidarity with and to support the Afghan nation.

On July 14, a suicide bomber blew himself up among guests at a wedding hall in Aybak, the capital of Samangan province, killing 23 people including Ahmad Khan Samangani, a lawmaker of Uzbek origin, and wounding many others.
