Volume of Turkish mining industry products export declines

Export of mining industry products from Turkey to international markets dropped by 15.1 percent from January through May 2020, compared to the same period of 2019, having made up slightly over $1.5 billion, Turkish Trade Ministry told Trend on June 5.

According to the ministry, this amount accounted for 2.5 percent of the country’s total export for the reporting period.

"In May 2020, Turkey exported mining industry products worth $272.7 million to world markets, which is 40.5 percent less compared to the same month of 2019," the ministry said.

Turkey’s export of mining industry products abroad in May this year amounted to 2.7 percent of the country’s total export.

During the last twelve months (from May 2019 through May 2020), Turkey exported mining industry products worth more than $4 billion.

In April this year, Turkey’s export of mining industry products to international markets amounted to 1.6 percent of the country’s total export.

From April 2019 through April 2020, Turkey exported mining industry products worth $4 billion.

In the first 4 months of this year, Turkey’s trade turnover exceeded $120.8 billion. Meanwhile, Turkish exports decreased by 13.7 percent compared to the same period in 2019 and made up $51.6 billion.
