The office of Iranian president, Hassan Rouhani has issued a letter responding to claims about appointing officials with dual citizenship on high-rank posts in the country.

The office has rejected some Iranian MPs' claims that one of the senior officials in the office has dual citizenship, the website of Iran's president reported Jan. 28.

Earlier at least 13 MPs send a letter to Rouhani and warned him about appointing officials with dual citizenship to government posts.

The MPs claimed that one of the senior officials of presidential office has American citizenship.

However the MPs did not mention the name of the official, but it seems that they are referring to Mohammad Nahavandian, Rouhani's Chief of Staff.

"Government officials should not state oath of allegiance under foreign flags", the MPs letter reads.

The president office accused the MPs of publishing the letter without any investigation or inquiry.

The claim is similar to outlets of some radical media in the US which are linked to Israel, the president office said.
