Another Georgian serviceman was killed in Afghanistan and two others were injured.

As a result of a mine explosion, Corporal Valeri Verskiani was killed, and Captain Aluda Seturidze and Corporal Revaz Gorgazde were injured, the Georgian Defense Ministry reported.

The injured servicemen are being treated at a hospital. Verskiani's body will be delivered home soon.

All three servicemen were blown up by a mine during their patrolling of the area. They served in the Gelmand province under the command of the U.S. armed forces.

This is the seventh casualty for the Georgian military forces in Afghanistan.

The Georgian parliament has recently approved the president's appeal to send an extra 11 gunners to Afghanistan to train Afghan servicemen. The president said recently the mission in Afghanistan is a complex task and there are many human losses, but Georgia will not opt against taking part in the mission.

In total, 955 Georgian servicemen serve in Afghanistan; 700 serve under U.S. command and 200 under French command.
