The founding congress of the World Association of Azerbaijani Youth has started in Baku today.
Over 50 Azerbaijani youth organizations operate in foreign countries today, MP Fuad Muradov said.
He said Azerbaijani youth seek to convey the truth about the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict to the world using information technologies.
"Azerbaijani youth are sufficiently informed about the history and culture of their historic homeland, regardless of where they live," Muradov said.
He stressed that the foreign youth organizations have important tasks.
Azerbaijani Presidential Administration Social and Political Department Chief Ali Hasanov read out the Azerbaijani president's greeting to the participants of the founding congress of the World Association of Azerbaijani Youth.
Chairman of Russian State Duma Sergei Naryshkin's welcoming letter was also read out.
Representatives of diaspora organizations established by Azerbaijani youth living abroad, Azerbaijani youth organizations, students studying in prestigious universities abroad, as well as some 500 heads of Azerbaijani diaspora organizations and guests are attending the event.
The congress will adopt the charter of the World Association of Azerbaijani Youth, an action program for 2012-2015, and other important documents.
