Kazakh Foreign Minister Yerlan Idrisov attended the OSCE Ministerial Council meeting in Kiev on December 5-6.

Idrisov met with OSCE Secretary General Lamberto Zannier, UN Under-Secretary-General Jeffrey Feltman, the newly appointed OSCE High Commissioner on National Minorities Astrid Thors on the sidelines of the Ministerial Council meeting.

He also held a tripartite meeting with foreign ministers of the Customs Union member-states, as well as more than 20 bilateral meetings with foreign ministers of the member-states and partners of the organization.

While speaking at a meeting of the OSCE Ministerial Council, Idrisov outlined key areas of Kazakhstan's activity in the organization for the coming years and urged member-states to continue work on the implementation of the declaration points adopted at the OSCE Summit in Astana.

"The Astana declaration includes the vision of the security community, able to adequately meet today's challenges," he said. "This community must unite all members of the Euro-Atlantic and Eurasian space without dividing lines, conflicts, spheres of influence and zones with different security levels."

The Kazakh diplomat said that the organization must continue focusing on cyber security, counteracting the transnational threats, the fight against terrorism and drug trafficking.

He also stressed that Kazakhstan welcomes Ukraine's interest in integration within the Customs Union and the Eurasian Economic Space.
