The evolution of CDMA wireless network standard can contribute to the deployment of mobile standard, Production Association Aztelekom under the Ministry of Communications and Information Technologies of Azerbaijan told Trend on Thursday.

The first phase of CDMA wireless network introduction in the country is in the final stage.

"The next step is to expand and approve the economic rationality of this connection standard. After that the decision about implementation of its mobile version can be considered," Aztelekom reported.

The stationary version of the CDMA is now available in 29 towns and villages in Azerbaijan, except the occupied territories.

Additional license for CDMA mobile version deployment is required, to verify the status of service provider of mobile communications.

"Conditions for obtaining a license for the deployment of mobile CDMA is more demanding than stationary, as there should be countrywide connection. This requires an increase in the number of base stations. At the current stage the implementation of the mobile version of CDMA is impractical," Aztelekom reported.

At the present time Aztelekom communication services in CDMA standard are rendered on the "408" index in Baku and Absheron peninsula.

The network code "044"is used in other parts of the country.
