Baku 2015: Day 9 in boxing kicks off

Competitions in boxing went on June 24 within the framework of the first European Games in Baku.
Four Azerbaijani boxers will be competing in quarterfinals and semifinals, which will take place June 24.
Azerbaijani Yana Alekseyeva (60 kg) will be competing with Russian Zinaida Dobrynina in ¼ finals.
Azerbaijani Khaybula Musalov (75 kg) will be fighting with Belarus Vitaly Bondarenko.
Another pair of Azerbaijani boxers will perform in the evening within the framework of the semifinals matches.
Russian Bakhtovar Nazirov will be competing with Azerbaijani Tayfur Aliyev (56 kg), while Azerbaijani Teymur Mammadov (81 kg) will be fighting with Russian Pavel Silyagin.
The European Games kicked off in Baku June 12 and will last till June 28. There are a total of 20 sports at Baku 2015: 16 Olympic sports and four non-Olympic sports.
More than 6,000 athletes from across Europe came to Baku to represent their nations over 17 days of competition. Baku was awarded the games by the European Olympic Committees (EOC) in December 2012.
