Armenia must show political will for the resolution of the Armenian-Azerbaijani Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, the Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Elmar Mammadyarov said during a meeting with the Chairman of the Council of States of the Federal Parliament of Switzerland Filippo Lombardi on Monday.
The Minister noted that Azerbaijan is ready to work on a peace agreement, adding that the existing status quo is unacceptable, according to a statement released on the ministry's website on Monday.
During the meeting, the sides discussed prospects of cooperation in the energy sector between Europe and Azerbaijan and noted the importance of relations between the two countries.
Mammadyarov said that Lombardi's visit will contribute to the development of relations between the two countries.
Filippo Lombardi, in turn, thanked the Foreign Minister for the warm welcome. He described the decision to transport Azerbaijani gas to Europe via the Trans-Adriatic Pipeline as historic.
