Delegations of GUAM Countries to PACE to meet in Strasburg

Azerbaijan, Baku, 19 January / Trend corr. I.Alizadeh / The delegations to the Organization for Democracy and Economic Development - GUAM member-countries to the Parliamentary Assembly of Council of Europe will meet in Strasburg.

"The delegations of GUAM countries to PACE regularly meet within the framework of the structure. The next session is expected to hold during the winter session of PACE," Samad Seyyidov, the head of the Azerbaijani delegation to PACE and chairman of the permanent Parliamentary commission on International and Inter parliamentary relations, stated on 18 January.

PACE winter session will be held in Strasburg on 21-25 January. The Azerbaijani delegation will also take part in the session.

Georgia, Ukraine, Azerbaijan and Moldova are represented in GUAM.

According to Seyyidov, the meeting will be held between GUAM countries and PACE or between the leaders of delegations. The joint work which is planning to implement within PACE will be discussed during the meeting.

"The delegations of GUAM countries to PACE implement jointly accepted policy. We hold regular meetings, discuss problems and support one another in international organizations," Seyyidov said.

According to Seyyidov, the problems the GUAM countries met are similar. "The key problem is the frozen conflicts in Azerbaijan, Georgia and Moldova, and another GUAM Moldova support the countries in settling of the conflicts," Seyyidov added.
