CEC approves three candidates in Azerbaijan's parliamentary elections

The Central Election Commission (CEC) approved three other candidates in the parliamentary elections in Azerbaijan. The Azerbaijani Supreme Court adopted a decision to approve candidates of Ihtiyar Abdulov, Elchin Mammadov and Mubariz Aliyev. Earlier, the district elections commissions refused from registering them because of inconsistency with the electoral law.

The Central Election Commission (CEC) approved three other candidates in the parliamentary elections in Azerbaijan. The Azerbaijani Supreme Court adopted a decision to approve candidates of Ihtiyar Abdulov, Elchin Mammadov and Mubariz Aliyev. Earlier, the district elections commissions refused from registering them because of inconsistency with the electoral law.

The 60th Neftchala Salyan district election commission was changed at a CEC meeting. The authorized representatives of political parties were registered.

CEC also considered the appeals received in connection with the parliamentary elections

The parliamentary elections in Azerbaijan are scheduled for November 7, 2010. Previous parliamentary elections were held in November 2005. Parliamentary elections in Azerbaijan are held by the majority system in 125 constituencies.
