Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev today received the delegation led by OSCE Chairman-in-Office, Lithuanian Foreign Minister Audronius Azubalis, official website of Azerbaijani President reported.
Stating he started his visit to region from Azerbaijan, the OSCE Chairman-in-Office said Azerbaijan plays significant role in region and expressed hope to activate this role even more. Noting Azerbaijan has strong economy, the OSCE chief said the country is also widely implementing democratic reforms, saying it is always a question of significance. Audronius Azubalis informed the head of state about the meetings and discussions he held in Baku.
President Ilham Aliyev underlined the importance of open discussion of the regional development and all the questions connected to country's general development. The president stated on successful reforms conducted in the political, economic and social spheres to develop and modernize the country with strong political system.
In meeting, also were focused on the current state and prospects for settlement of the Armenia-Azerbaijan, Nagorno-Karabakh conflict.
