Iranian Foreign Minister Ali Akbar Salehi has hailed reforms in Syria's government, the IRNA reported.
Salehi and his Syrian counterpart Walid Al Muallem hold talks around the regional and international situation during the 66th meeting of the General Assembly of the United Nations meeting in New York.
Al Muallim has emphasized democratizing Syria, saying that at least 18 new parties and political entities have been registered, but that Western countries continue forcing political pressure on Syria.
Salehi welcomed reformist steps by the Syrian government, saying that such steps favor resistance against Western countries.
