Iran has strongly slammed the latest wave of violence in Iraq.

Iran's foreign ministry spokesman Seyyed Abbas Araghchi said the blasts are part of a plot hatched by terrorists and their foreign supporters to destabilize Iraq and sow sectarian strife in the country.

Araghchi added that Iran will continue to support the Iraqi government and people and it's ready to help them in their fight against terrorism, the ISNA News Agency reported.

Iran's foreign ministry spokesman further urged unity among all Iraqis against terrorists.

The Friday bomb attacks left nearly 70 people.

The bombings hit the cities of Baghdad, Baquba, Fallujah, and Mada'in.
